Porsche extends its lead in the WEC with double podium at the Nurburgring


Both Porsche 919 Hybrids finished the 6 hours of the Nurburgring on the podium last weekend in dominant fashion. Porsche claim dramatic victory at the 85th running of the 24 hours of Le Mans

 

Porsche’s LMP1 program is now dominating at the famous 24 hours of Le Mans, winning the event for the last three years and taking their 19th overall victory in the manufacturer’s history this year. However, this year the famous race was a narrow escape to victory for the #2 Porsche 919 Hybrid. After having a technical failure and spending nearly an hour in the pits early on, the 919 piloted by Brendan Hartley, Timo Bernhard, and Earl Bamber fought its way back to the lead.
