Like other Porsche fans in the greater Chicago and Schaumburg area, we here at Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, IL got our first glimpse of the exciting new 2017 Porsche 911 when it made its world debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. The big news is that this iconic sports car has received some major enhancements to the engines offered, which will provide a significant boost in power and performance, especially in the Turbo models. In addition to the performance upgrade, the 2017 Porsche 911 offers a number of a new and improved features including redesigned front and rear fascias and an all-new infotainment system. Sharper Design, Enhanced Features, and Unrivaled Power
The top-of-the-line 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S, available in both coupe and convertible configurations, are poised to take performance to a whole new level.
The 911 Turbo is powered by a 3.8L twin-turbo six-cylinder engine that produces 540 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque. This re-engineered powerplant features higher fuel pressure, modified cylinder head intake ports, and redesigned fuel injectors. The 911 Turbo S gets new turbochargers that deliver 580 hp with 553 lb-ft of torque. Needless to say, die-hard Porsche fans will not be disappointed.
Here are some of the other changes, upgrades, and new features for the 911:
- Newly optional Lane Change Assist and a further reinforced brake system deliver greater driving pleasure as well as greater safety.
- Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), which electronically adjusts the shock absorber system, is standard on all models for the first time.
- The new PCM infotainment system with navigation and a multi-touch 7” display is standard across all 911 models, including an online navigation, Apple CarPlay™, Bluetooth® connection and Connect apps.
